Insuring Wisconsin Growth Fund Conduit Details » Donate Online
What is the IIAW Conduit?
Like the IIAW Political Action Committee, the conduit is a voluntary donation that is designed to take our association to the next level in state government affairs advocacy. What's different than our PAC, is donors contribute funds to their personal conduit account, in which the donor has complete control of the distribution of their funds.
Our government affairs committe will then solicit individual donors for authorization to use a portion of their donation for a particular candidate(s). Conduit donors may accept or decline this solicitation. In addition, donors may direct the conduit to distribute their funds to any candidate of their choice at any time.
Why is the IIAW Conduit Important?
Every day, legislation is introduced in the legislature that could affect your business. Proposed legislation often includes increased reporting and additional requirements leading to unecessary regulations of our industry. In some cases, we support legslative initiatives and work with legislators to gain passage of such measures. For example, we are currently working on the role of the navigator under the new federal PPACA rules. We are protecting the role of agents moving into the future.
Why should I donate?
Pooling our resources together results in sizable contributions that give our association increased visability and credibility. Legislators will remember who we are and take the time to listen to our concerns and they may even champion our cause. By no means do political contributions buy votes, they instead open the door to be heard and compete against our legislative competitors.
