Who IS an insured in an insurance policy? We will look into the Named as well as others stated in the policy and by endorsements.  We will also look at Who WANTS to be an insured? Partners of a partnership, Members of a joint venture, Officers, directors and stockholders of a corporation, Members and managers of a limited liability company, Trustees of a trust, Newly acquired or newly formed subsidiaries, Prior entities of the named insured, Employees, Volunteer workers or any person or entity who: Hires the named insured to perform work; Enters into a contract with the named insured; Rents or leases real or personal property to the named insured; Represents the named insured; and Is a creditor of the named insured. Who is an insured does not always equal who wants to be an insured nor does it equal who needs to be an insured!
