IIAW Emerging Leaders present Agency Operations, Financial Management and Perpetuation

Once again, the Emerging Leaders Committee is bringing you another opportunity for professional development, CE credits and networking!

The objective of the course is to provide attendees with best practices and relate those practices to high productivity levels.

1:00 - 2:30 Best Practices & Financial Acumen:

  • The course will include a review of the latest changes and improvements being made by insurance agencies to their operations in the areas of effective sales initiatives, improved customer service, and efficient infrastructure and decision making. Topics include managing new relationship development separately from annual renewals, centralized service and the use of service centers, producer commission formulas, staff incentive and bonus plans, aligning all areas of the agency, and the impact of these changes on the Best Practices profit and productivity model. Review balance sheet and income statement properly designed for insurance agency.

2:30 - 4:00 Best Practices & Perpetuation Planning

  • The presentation will cover a broad range of issues and options for perpetuating the agency, including how to select and implement the most favorable option. This will include structuring plans for internal succession, either to family or non-family members, and plans for a merger or sale to an outside party. The course will cover all aspects of the perpetuation plan including financial (both operational profitability and valuation metrics), tax, operations, personnel, company relationships, and other areas. Agencies work with their clients to properly manage and insure financial risks. Proper perpetuation and valuation planning will help manage one of the largest financial assets of agency owners.

The class will run from 1pm-4pm at the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce Building and the networking event will follow from 4pm-6pm at the Brewing Projekt in their Distillery Room.
