The costs of workers’ compensation claims are on the rise. In Wisconsin, the
average workers’ compensation claim cost has tripled over the past 15 years. In response to these steadily increasing costs, the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) recently announced plans to change how it calculates experience ratings. The Wisconsin Compensation Rating Bureau and the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance approved and adopted the NCCI recommendations effective October 1, 2013.
